1.  General

Alberta Capital Finance Authority (ACFA) has developed this Debt Limit Worksheet (DLW) to assist municipalities to determine their debt limit position. The DLW allows municipalities to calculate their current debt position which can then be printed, scanned and emailed as part of the supporting documents for debenture application and approval. The amounts are calculated based on the current lending rates posted on this website.

There are also Excel versions of the DLW available if the online interactive version is not supported by your current browser.  (We recommend using Internet Explorer for the online version.)

5.   Printing, Scanning and Saving the DLW

If your usual print and save commands do not work, please try the following:

  • Right click on the DLW
  • Choose 'Print Preview' from the drop-down menu
  • On the 'Print Preview' menu bar, change the default "as laid out on screen" to "only the selected frames"
  • Print the DLW (using print icon or CTRL+P) and then scan and save it in the usual manner.

We do not recommend using the retrieve/store function at the bottom of the worksheet as it is no longer supported by most browsers.

6.  Clear and Start Over:

To be used to clear the worksheet and re-enter information on the DLW if required. Please note:  if the previous session was saved, click "clear cookie" to clear the worksheet that was previously saved in order to start a brand new (with no information) worksheet.
